My class with Jody was awesome! I learned so much from her. Everything she taught felt custom tailored , she picked up on my skill level and allowed me to do the majority of prep on my own while sharing her philosophy on formulating amazingly delicious live food dishes at the same time! Through anecdotes and accounts of her own experiences and experiments Jody helped me to further develop my own ability to create wonderfully tasty dishes!! On 8/16/2008 I attended the Raw Chef Certification with Jody and it was a very enlightening experience. She teaches in a way that makes it easy to go home and be able to prepare good tasting and healthy food without spending a lot of time in the kitchen. She shares her experience from having the restaurant on how to use ingredients to save money and time in the kitchen. The ingredients she uses can be found at the local supermarket. She teaches how to taste and adjust the ingredients in a recipe so the food will taste good every time. She’s very detailed and takes her time to answer questions. I was always afraid of preparing raw foods on my own because the ingredients are usually expensive; but Jody has taken that fear away. I have the confidence that I need to follow any recipe and make adjustments according to my taste preference and I also know I can convert a cooked recipe into a raw recipe. The Cheesecake and ice cream which I would have never thought tasted good was excellent.
I would employ anyone who want to learn how to prepared delicious raw foods to take Jody’s class. Jody taught me how to make easy to prepare foods with simple ingredients. She explains equipment and how to use them; and she explains how long foods will last in the refrigerator. Her tips on how to quickly make smoothies in the morning when time is short’ I use every morning
While attending the class she provided a raw breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. She gave me food to take home and the food sustained me until I got set up at home to prepare raw foods. Jody has followed up on my success at home and continues to encourage me to incorporate raw foods into my diet. I’m not 100% raw, but I have raw foods with every meal. I have the knowledge and confidence I need to be a successful raw foodist.

I enrolled in Jody Allen's Chef Certification Class, new to raw foods and intimidated by recipe books. Our class spent time learning about the benefits of raw foods and then we dove straight into learning and "uncooking". Jody is an EXCELLENT teacher and RAW CHEF. Her classes were hands-on, very informative and interactive, and LOTS of FUN.
We prepared a LOT of different living foods, from appetizers to entrees and desserts and learned about dehydrating foods and making raw breads, as well. I found out early that I have a knack for preparing raw foods! Thanks to Jody, I gained the confidence and expertise to create new recipes and enhance others that already exist. I actually catered a few luncheons and got rave reviews.
I am a happy and healthy raw fooder, now that I have the confidence thanks to Jody. I can create my own recipes, or open any raw food cookbook, especially Jody's, and prepare a tasty meal for myself. I can make raw breads and crackers, too. It's a LOT of fun to work in the kitchen preparing raw foods. With every dish I make, whether simple or complex, I thank the Universe for Jody and Joey and remember to LOVE LIFE.
